The Wealdlink Community Transport Service is provided by NWCTP Ltd. NWCTP are a not for profit company, registered charity and approved provider of community transport for the North Wealden area.
Our aim is to provide accessible, safe and affordable transport for those who are vulnerable or disadvantaged through lack of appropriate transport, from all sections of the community across North Wealden and beyond, in order to combat social exclusion and increase independence.
We operate under the Transport Act 1985 section 19 and 22 permits. In addition to our regular door-to-door shopper service and service routes 224, 225, and 226 on behalf of East Sussex County Council we also operate a community trips service for eligible groups.
There is a known demand for regular excursions aimed to combat social exclusion among those who live alone. There are also those who wish to enjoy our beautiful Ashdown Forest area without the necessity to own a car. We are continually seeking the funding to introduce new services such as these at a realistic cost to passengers.
We rely on funding from County, District, Parish, and Town Councils, in addition to our users, charitable donations and legacies.
To fulfil our commitment to the local communities we engage the help of local volunteers as drivers and passenger assistants. We are regularly looking for additional volunteer drivers to help provide our door to door shopping service from outlying areas into Crowborough . If you have a clean UK driving licence and preferably experience of driving a van sized vehicle you could be driving one of our Minibuses to provide this valuable service to the community. We provide full training including approved Midas training. See our Volunteering page for more information.
